If you have been itching for a new creature-collection RPG, you really need to check out LumenTale: Memories of Trey. It is not just another clone in the genre; it is a heartfelt adventure that focuses on a boy named Trey trying to piece together his fractured memories in a land called Talea. The world-building is solid, rooted in a history of civil war and the rise of the Lumen, the protectors who keep both humans and these mysterious creatures safe. Realm of Ink

The core gameplay loop revolves around catching Animon using a tool called a Holoken. With around 140 species spread across 13 elemental types, there is plenty of room for theory-crafting. What I find cool is that these types are based on the emotions the creatures evoke, which is a neat twist on the standard elemental system. Battles can be quick 1v1 duels or more intense 4v4 team showdowns, so you really have to think about your party composition and elemental weaknesses if you want to win.

When you are not battling, you spend time in the Anispace. Think of it as your personal hub where your captured creatures hang out. You can train them there, customize the space to make them happy, and even cook food or craft items to help them grow. It adds a nice layer of management that makes you feel more connected to your team. Plus, the trading system is flexible, whether you are swapping with friends or using the trade station to fill out your collection.

If you pick it up soon, there is an early adopter bonus pack available through June 25th. You get some exclusive furniture for your Anispace, a bunch of Bilias, and a set of cards that includes a holographic Lampecko. It is a solid head start. If you enjoy games where you bond with your party and dive into a deep, emotional story, LumenTale is definitely worth a download. It feels like a labor of love, and honestly, that is exactly what I want to play right now.
